Join our team at Weichai Power European Science and Technology Innovation Center as a Working Student specializing in electric motors. Located in the vibrant city of Aachen, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the machine-building and operating technology industry. As a student, you will work part-time alongside our engineering team, contributing to innovative projects and gaining valuable insights into reliable and efficient electric motors.

Your tasks

Depending on the topic and focus of your work, the following topics, among others, may be relevant:

  • Development and analysis of control concepts for electric motors.
  • Examination of classical approaches such as torque and flux control.
  • Investigation of thermal issues based on parameter-distributed models.
  • Application of data-driven methods from data science and artificial intelligence.
  • Support in the development of efficient and reliable electric drive systems.

Your profile

  • Preferrably enrolled in one of the following fields:  
    • Automation, Control, Electrical Engineering, Cybernetics or Physics
  • Strong grades or demonstrated hands-on experience in electric motor design or control theory during studies
  • First experience with reduced order modeling and/or model-based control is helpful but not required
  • Strong communicational skills and proactive approach at tackling challenges and taking ownership to find solutions indepedently are expected
